1 Large Community Event: Regent’s Park Estate Spring Clean – Assisted in planning a spring clean day and ran a canvas-making activity using recycled goods with a local artist that were involved in the Camden Canvas project

Climate Action Market: Working alongside Climate Studio, the team set up a community stall prototype and gathered feedback on the designs developed for both the refill stations and the community stalls

The team coordinated a final design review between the BA Product Design students and external partners. All the presentations were collected and some are now being turned into activities to utilize on the workbench

An updated prototype of the workbench was taken out and tested at Clean Air Day in Somers Town by running a plant potting and giveaway. 80 plants were potted and given away throughout the afternoon and feedback was gathered throughout on what could be improved in the next iteration.

Involved in a joint engagement session with Global Generation at Walker House Estate utilising a developed prototype of the workbench to paint the newly built planters. During the event, the workbench was used to transport tools and materials, used as a base for the activity, and feedback was gathered on how it could be improved

Event to bring together practitioners, residents, community organisations and businesses who have an interest in gathering, co-creating, and sharing stories. It will be the first meeting of a newly established community of practice which will foster closer collaborations between residents, practitioners, community organisations and businesses in and around Euston

Staff and Students

Two sessions were run at Chalton Street in order to gather insights around who would be interested in trading on the market, what sorts of items they’d buy from a refill station, and what the designs needed to have in order to support their needs. The second session also involved running the current refill station at Chalton Street alongside the engagement

Involved a joint engagement session with Global Generation at Walker House Estate to paint the newly built planters, gather feedback on initial prototype designs and the initial brief, and gather feedback on the variety of activities that could be done on the workbench

Various Co-Discover engagements were conducted through the various partners such as a planting day with Global Generation at Walker House Estate and multiple sessions speaking to residents at Think & Do’s Sharing Space

The team coordinated a design review between the BA Product Designs students and external partners to present initial ideas for products that could be created by local residents at the workbench

2 Scoping Engagements (Housing Estates Visit, Chalton Street Engagement): Working with Global Generation and a group of BA Product Design students from Central Saint Martins, the team visited the surrounding estates to gather information about the area and then presented their findings for feedback on Chalton Street Market

Multiple trips were made to Queen’s Crescent Market and Chalton Street Market to learn about the existing refill stall, how the service model works, and what traders think should be in the next iteration of both the refill stalls and community stalls

Created a prototype and installed it at Cumberland Market, running weekly activities at the space over a 2.5 month period

Asynchronous Idea Tracking Website: 30+ Ideas were collected on an online website that was accessible from the workbench. Ideas could also be submitted by residents at the workbench physically and then uploaded to the website.

15+ weekly community champions meetings. Attended weekly meetings with champions to discuss activities and ideas that could be integrated and/or run at the workbench.

A variety of weekly and one-off meetings took place in order to bring in a variety of partners for supporting the long-term viability of the workbench and bringing in new resources and activities. Weekly and monthly meetings with the council and local organisations ensured everything ran smoothly, all health and safety needs were being met, and the project integrated with the wider infrastructure and ongoing projects around the area

6 Community Champion Training Sessions: Attended 6 sessions over a 2 month period to become one of the community champions

Periodic check-ins with partners to discuss needs, create a brief, feedback from each phase of the project, and provide a space for questions, recommendations, and alterations to be made
